Peace of Mind

Travel should be fun, not stressful

That's why at Are We There Yet? Tours we strive to make every tour as relaxing as possible. When considering a tour with any company, here are some things to keep in mind before you book.

Business Licenses: Any company that is preparing a tour should have a local business license and be registered with the Secretary of State. This protects you from scammers or unscrupulous individuals. Are We There Yet has licenses both in the State of Missouri as well as the City of Saint Louis.

Insurance: Perhaps the second most important thing to inquire about is the company's insurance. Currently there are only providers that will insure Tour Operators like Are We There Yet? Tours. We carry liability insurance of $1 million per traveler in case of unforeseen occurrences, as do our coach companies which carry between $5 and $10 million per traveler. These policies protect you in case of a major disaster or accident.

References:Always ask for references when deciding on a tour company. We are fortunate to have many loyal travelers who would be thrilled to tell you about their experiences on Are We There Yet? Tours. They will also tell you the types of hotels and restaurants that the company frequents, as well as what special value things they like to include. When you travel with Are We There Yet? Tours, you know you will stay in nice hotels and dine in special restaurants because the owner of the company leads every tour.

Optional Travel Insurance: When you purchase the insurance at time of deposit, the policy covers pre-exisiting health conditions.

If you become ill while traveling, it supplements your medical insurance and will pay for your transportation either to rejoin the group or to return home, which is especially nice if you are overseas where one-way airfare can start at $2000! We are proud to work with three travel insurance companies: Berkshire Hathaway, Travel Insured and Allianz. Travel Insured plans are for our group policies and are priced based ONLY on the tour price and not the participant's age. Allianz is for long international tours, such as South Africa or Tanzania, and our independent travelers who wish to purchase their insurance through us, a reliable source. Berkshire Hathaway's AirCare program automatically tracks your flight and deposits money into your account if your plane is delayed over two hours or cancelled. It can even tell if your bag is lost and credit your account! If you are booking one of our published tours, the money becomes non-refundable at final payment date. Many people desire the option to protect their travel investment as well as cover themselves once the tour starts for any additional travel expenses incurred due to an unexpected injury that leads to evacuation or return at a different time from the group. The interruption coverage will refund all money spend for a covered reason that causes a traveler to leave the tour early. Please click here for Travel Insured PDF application form for either the Lite or Deluxe Insurance. You will want to purchase this within 7 days of putting down a deposit. If you cancel prior to final payment, all money, deposit and insurance, is refunded. You will also see a link for the actual coverage provided by each insurance. These are over 30 pages long each. They are PDFs that you can just read online, but put lots of paper in your printer if you wish to print. Or contact our office and we will be glad to snail mail you a paper booklet version of the coverage. We are pleased to now be able to offer Cancel For Any Reason (CFAR) coverage via the Travel Insured Deluxe optional purchase. You will see a second column with the premium for CFAR. It costs more than the basic trip interruption and cancellation insurance. We also offer two other insurance products - Allianz for coverage up to $100,000, and Berkshire Hathaway "AirCare" for domestic flights. Read more about them on our Insurance Page

Experience unique restaurants, hotels & attractions

We all recognize the neon signs of the fast food joints. But how do you know you're not missing a great local diner or down-home meal around the corner? Dea and Declan have scouted across the country and bugged their friends far and wide to find you some iconic places to dine and to visit. Plus Dea always manages to sneak in a few that aren't on the itinerary!

No need to worry about the price of gas

There's nothing like the shock of seeing how expensive gas is in cities like Chicago, New York or San Francisco. Even with a fuel efficient car, it's had to guess how much it will cost to drive somewhere until the credit card bill arrives. A luxury motorcoach is one of the most fuel efficient ways to travel, and the cost is already factored into the price of the trip.

Avoid feeling cramped

Between the large suitcases of clothes and the gadgets and gizmos, most cars might get a bit tight with more than 2 people traveling together. Add a few days of shopping for souvenirs for family members and it might get overwhelming. With ample luggage space underneath the coach and overhead storage on the coach, you'll be able to bring back all sorts of trinkets and treasures. As Dea will tell you, the only rule is "If you can load it, we can haul it!"
